Capability · One-shot projectDAS Research

Sector intelligence applied to decisions.

The intelligence DAS uses to direct communications in this sector, delivered as a closed project.

01 · Why DAS

Research that already speaks your language.

Most research firms come out of strategy consulting or private equity. They bring the rigor of their trade and none of the language of yours. Hiring them means explaining from scratch what MiCA is, what a tokenized secondary market implies and why institutional custody matters.

DAS starts with the language already in place. We have spent 9 years inside the sector as operators. The competitive report, the brand voice document or the sector analysis arrives with vocabulary, references and context native to the world you operate in.

The same muscle we apply to ghostwriting for our retainer clients, delivered as a closed project with fixed scope and pricing.

02 · Services

Three delivery formats. Scoped and priced per project.

01

Sector Competitive Brief

A structured report on the competitive landscape of one specific subsector: private debt tokenization, institutional DeFi, LATAM digital banking, EU blockchain infrastructure.

Timeline

2–3 weeks

What it includes

  • 15–25 structured pages
  • 8–20 competitors analyzed in depth
  • Competitive positioning matrix
  • Sector pricing and market gaps
  • Positioning recommendations
  • 60-minute debrief session

A fit if

  • · You are planning a launch in a new vertical
  • · You are preparing a round and the board expects a formal competitive benchmark
  • · You are entering an adjacent subsector from one you already know
  • · You need qualified external input before a strategic decision

02

Institutional Brand Voice

The same 17-section brand voice document we apply in our ghostwriting, delivered as a standalone asset for your in-house team to operate.

Timeline

4–6 weeks

What it includes

  • 30–40 page document, 17 sections
  • Voice archetype and per-channel registers
  • Proprietary vocabulary (required and banned terms)
  • Banks of hooks, closings and structures
  • Approved examples and an operating guide
  • 90-minute team onboarding + 30 days of support

A fit if

  • · You run an in-house comms team that already writes
  • · You want an institutional voice while keeping the writing in-house, on your own team
  • · You are onboarding an in-house speechwriter or executive assistant
  • · You are professionalizing communications ahead of an exit, a round or an IPO

03

One-Shot Sector Analysis

A focused analysis of one sector topic. Narrower than the competitive brief, deeper on a single axis.

Timeline

3–4 weeks

Scope examples

  • Operational implications of MiCA for one subsector
  • Tokenization map of a specific vertical
  • Geographic market map (LATAM DeFi, MENA neobanks)
  • A defensible investment thesis on one topic
  • Impact of a specific protocol or standard

A fit if

  • · You are preparing a talk at a sector conference
  • · You are about to publish a public statement and need it backed
  • · Your board wants external input before a specific decision
  • · You are preparing an investment thesis for a round

03 · Process

From inquiry to deliverable

01
<48h

Inquiry

You describe the project through the form. Within 48 hours you receive an initial scope and a proposal.

02
30 min

Discovery

A scoping call. We refine objectives, context and constraints. If the fit is wrong, we say so on the call.

03
48–72h

Proposal

Final scope, closed pricing, confirmed timeline. Bilateral NDA before we start. 50% at kickoff.

04
2–6 weeks

Delivery

We work in parallel with weekly check-ins. Final deliverable plus a 60-minute debrief with your team. Remaining 50% at close.

04 · Who it serves

Hire research when the cost of not knowing exceeds the cost of the report.

Research earns its place in one situation: a concrete decision depends on structured sector context, and the internal team has neither the time nor the distance to produce it.

It works best when an external deadline exists (a round, a conference, a launch, a board meeting) and a date after which the report stops being useful.

Pre-round founder

The board expects a formal competitive benchmark. Your team can list 3 competitors; the brief analyzes 15 in depth.

CEO with a keynote

You are opening a keynote at EthCC or Token2049. You need a defensible position built on data, not opinion.

C-level with a comms team

Your in-house team writes well and works without a documented institutional brand voice. The document becomes its operating system.

Board member evaluating

Before approving an investment or strategy decision, you want qualified external input from a sector specialist rather than a generalist consultancy.

05 · Frequently asked questions

What clients ask before commissioning research.

How long does a DAS Research project take?

+

It depends on the scope. A sector competitive brief closes in 3 to 5 weeks. An institutional brand voice with primary-source analysis and workshops takes 6 to 8 weeks. A deep sector research project (market state, regulation, players, primary data) runs 8 to 12 weeks. Discovery with a closed scope is agreed in the first meeting, within 48 hours of your inquiry.

How is DAS Research different from a traditional strategy consultancy?

+

A strategy consultancy sells partner and associate hours, generic frameworks and homogeneous deliverables to clients in any sector. We operate as a specialized boutique research practice: every project is supervised by a single principal, with no juniors on the account, and our sector depth is confined to institutional blockchain, regulated fintech, RWA, tokenization and adjacent topics. The methodology is the same one behind our own public analyzes, and you can audit those before hiring us.

What deliverables does a typical project include?

+

A structured PDF with DAS editorial layout, audited sources under an explicit hierarchy (direct issuer, official document, distributed PR, tier-1 press), proprietary visuals (charts, diagrams, infographics), a one-page executive summary and two review sessions, one midway and one final. Brand voice deliverables add a table of linguistic patterns, recommended sector vocabulary and 3-5 sample pieces applying the system.

What is the pricing range?

+

Projects are quoted per scope, with reference ranges: sector competitive brief $2-3K, institutional brand voice $3-5K, deep sector research $5-8K. Every proposal includes a closed scope, milestones and deliverables. If the available market data fails to justify the scope you propose, we say so before charging for it.

What happens to the confidentiality of shared information?

+

A bilateral NDA is signed before any substantive exchange. Information you share with DAS stays out of parallel client work and out of our own public content. The deliverables are yours: quote them, distribute them internally or publish them partially under your brand. Competitive exclusivity is available only under a specific agreement with a fixed duration.

What if the market changes between kickoff and delivery?

+

Every project closes with a data freeze at the final delivery date plus an explicit methodology note. If an event between discovery and delivery materially changes the analysis (new regulation, relevant M&A, market data that invalidates the thesis), we incorporate it at no extra cost within the original scope. A quarterly update option is also available at a discount on the base project.

Do you research verticals beyond blockchain and fintech?

+

The method applies to any regulated vertical with information asymmetry. The sector depth we guarantee, however, is confined to institutional blockchain, regulated fintech, capital markets, RWA, tokenization, MiCA, digital treasuries and institutional DeFi. If your project falls outside that perimeter, our honest recommendation is a team with the specific expertise, rather than stretching our coverage to fit the project.

06 · Inquire

Tell us about the project.

Every project is scoped individually. After your inquiry we get back to you within 48 hours with an initial scope and a proposal. If the fit is wrong, we say so.
